Expanding on the theme of dichotomy within my work, the tenuously balanced nature of Entropy (2022) evokes an emotional response of tension and unease.
The bone white finish was created using a bleaching technique to lighten the base wood colour, and finished with an oil containing white pigment, bringing the shade as light as possible while not disguising the timber. Harsh treatment of the wood was followed by smooth oil.
Sycamore, bleached and oiled.
